The You Know Who Group

Probably an exploitative joke, the YOU UNDERSTAND Who Group were a calculated try to capitalize for the Uk Invasion simply by emulating the Merseybeat audio with anonymous studio room players who purported to be always a bona fide Uk group (and who had been pictured with masks for the sleeve of their album). Masterminded by manufacturer and arranger Bob Gallo, the group, if indeed they could be known as that, actually maintained a small strike with “Roses Are Crimson, My Appreciate.” Using their exaggerated artificial British accents, reasonably catchy, minor-chord large tracks, and wheezing harmonica, they sounded such as a low-rent Beau Brummels — an ironic twist, as the Beau Brummels had been the initial American group to effectively emulate the United kingdom Invasion sound.
