Buzzkill

Originally referred to as Butthead, Fresh Jersey’s Buzzkill formed in 1990 yet had to improve their name 2 yrs later because of the popularity of MTV’s Beavis & Butthead. Strangely enough, MTV also released a hard-rock/grunge present known as Buzzkill in the middle-’90s, but this got nothing in connection with the punk trio, which includes vocalist/guitarist Bruce Steinert Jr., bassist Dan Roorda and drummer Mike Polli. They released their initial, self-titled record as Buzzkill in 1993 on Antidote Information, and gathered their Butthead materials into an record a year afterwards. By 1995, the group toured with several substitute and underground groupings, including Helmet, Desire Overkill, Barkmarket and Buzzoven. That season also proclaimed their debut one for Substitute Tentacles, Meat Can be Supper. The full-length Up arrived a year afterwards, followed by Home Of Bad Contact in 1999.
