A Cantopop duo of sisters located in Hong Kong, 2R rose to popularity in the mid-2000s. Created in Malaysia, the sisters — Competition Wong (created Sept 7, 1982) and Rosanne Wong (created June 30, 1979) — had been elevated in Singapore and shifted to Hong Kong to release their professions in display business after becoming discovered by a realtor at a performing competition. In colaboration with Common Music, the sisters released their full-length recording debut, Two folks, in 2003. The follow-up albums United (2004) and Trend (2005) proved more lucrative, thanks partly towards the sisters’ then-fledgling professions as stars. Their tasks in the film Ab-Normal Beauty (2004) had been particularly popular, making Competition a nomination for Greatest Newcomer in the 2004 Hong Kong Film Honours.
