Zookeeper

Zookeeper is primarily the indie pop automobile of Chris Simpson, ex-frontman for the influential, short-lived 1990s emo music group Mineral in addition to shoegazers the Gloria Record. Various other contributors to Zookeeper’s expansive audio (replete with horns, tambourines, and honky tonk piano) consist of a variety of musicians which range from his prior bandmates to associates of labelmates Sad Accordions. After packaging the lineup into an Austin studio room to record a couple of loose, exuberant music, Simpson surfaced with Zookeeper’s debut materials — a self-titled EP, released in November 2006 on Belle Town Pop! (controlled by Gloria Record drummer Brian Malone), as well as the full-length Getting EVERYTHING, released twelve months later.
