Yeahwon Shin

Yeahwon Shin is a jazz vocalist who’s also experienced in many global traditions, especially Brazilian music. She was created in Seoul, South Korea and started to research music significantly at a age group. She graduated from her country’s exclusive Dongduk Music University or college and relocated to NY in 2005. There, Shin continuing her research in jazz and modern music at the brand new College, where she graduated with honors in 2006. She started woodshedding on phases with musicians from your jazz and global music moments. During this time period she collaborated and performed with guitarist Egberto Gismonti, whom she considers her best impact. Shin’s self-titled debut, comprised primarily of traditional Brazilian music, was released on Artistshare this year 2010. It presented a stellar solid of players including Cyro Baptista, Tag Turner, and Ben Road. The recording was nominated for any Latin Grammy in 2011 in the category Música Popular Brasileira (MPB). (She was the first Asian designer ever nominated in the category.) Shin relocated to Munich in 2012 and authorized to Manfred Eicher’s ECM Information. Lua Ya, her label debut, was documented with pianist Aaron Parks and accordionist Rob Curto; it had been released in Sept of 2013.
