Whispering Bob

Shaped in 1998 and coined after Bob Harris, a ’60s Uk television star, this Oxford-based group slowly but steadily grew in musical depth and critical acclaim. Joe Bennett and his sibling, Robin, soon joined up with makes with Jef Clayton and Simon Davis. By 1999, a posting and recording agreement was agreed upon as the group visited work recording within their sleeping rooms on a historical seven-track recorder. The band’s initial one, “Don’t Bring Me Down,” received airplay on BBC’s Radio 1 and captured the attention of London’s New Musical Express. After some lineup adjustments, mainly in the tempo section, the group released its debut record in November 2001.
