Von Zamla

Von Zamla began being a quartet in 1981 with Swedish keyboardist/composer Lars Hollmer and guitarist Eino Haapala (both people of Zamla Mammaz Manna) alongside two people of quirky France artwork pop musician Albert Marcoeur’s ensemble, reedman Denis Brely and bassist Jan Garret. The quartet released Zamlaranama in 1981 and shortly underwent a significant lineup modification, with Brely and Garret departing and Hollmer and Haapala carrying on on inside a sextet lineup also offering Univers No bassoonist Michel Berckmans from Belgium and Munju bassist Wolfgang Salomon from Germany. This group toured greatly, traveling with a big array of devices while surviving in a previous traveler bus and liberating No CONSTITUTE! in 1983. Neither recording was released beyond European countries, and after their tour in 1985, the group disbanded. In 1999 the Cuneiform label released the live recording 1983, documented at two times while the music group was on tour in Germany.
