Vivian Slade

A native and citizen from the Deep South, Vivian Slade can be an introspective, sometimes confessional singer/songwriter who became dynamic on the Nashville picture within the 1990s. Slade, who’s blessed with an extraordinary range, is fairly unpredictable–depending within the music, she may bring in your thoughts Ani DiFranco’s grit, Jewel’s level of sensitivity or Tori Amos’ quirky eccentricity. Slade was raised in Jacksonville, FL, while a pre-adult, she was flipped onto jazz by her dad but also experienced a fondness for the 1970s pop-rock of Elton John, Carole Ruler, Heart among others. After senior high school, Slade analyzed tone of voice at Mannes University of Music in NY for any semester before shifting to Dallas (where she gained a qualification in artwork from Southern Methodist University or college) and finally finding yourself in Nashville. In 1998, Slade released her self-titled debut recording on her personal Human Artwork label.
