The Viscounts

An instrumental quintet from NJ, the Viscounts include tenor saxophonist Harry Haller, guitarist Bobby Spievak, organist Larry Vecchio, bassist Joe Spievak, and drummer Clark Smith. They have scored one strike in 1960, a very well done edition of “Harlem Nocturne” for Madison. They’re not to end up being baffled with ’60s rockers the Viscounts, who have been from Britain and acquired such strikes as “Short’nin’ Loaf of bread” and “Who Place the Bomp.”
