The State of Samuel

The Condition of Samuel began for Samuel Petersson to vent his frustrations about the music scene in his hometown of Varberg, Sweden. In 1996, he started writing and documenting songs on the four-track machine and immediately after developed his stage name. A few of these recordings would afterwards arrive on his debut record, A 141 Factors Average, the majority of which was documented in his parent’s garage area. After shifting to Stockholm in 1999, Petersson released another album, The Condition of Samuel at the films, and started marketing himself in regional clubs. The Condition of Samuel’s group of fans continued to develop, even while Petersson busied himself with a fresh band, Goblin World. Both projects began blossoming in 2001, using the last mentioned garnering a hit as well as the previous launching an EP debut, Santa Barbara EP, on Modesto Information. Bigger venues plus some celebration schedules for the Condition of Samuel implemented, aswell as important acclaim and an internationally audience. This wide appeal would bring about Japanese label Escalator getting in touch with Petersson in 2002, asking for permission to produce a “best-of” compilation. The effect was Swedish Steel Aid, that was released in July of this year. Not surprisingly success, it had been still a bittersweet season for Petersson; while his first project was developing, Goblin Universe made a decision to contact it quits.The Condition of Samuel produced its full-length debut in 2003 using the release of Mutiny on Mercury. An acoustic tour of THE UNITED STATES followed with schedules in both Canada and america, and in Sept of that season, Petersson constructed a backing music group. Today an ensemble, the Condition of Samuel strike the road once again in 2004 for a short U.S. tour and ongoing work on a fresh album, Here Arrive the Floods, that was released in Oct of 2007.
