The Romans

Though short-lived, the Romans brought collectively a number of the even more interesting musicians within the LA underground rock scene who created a prescient mixture of post-punk artiness, instrumental rock stylings, as well as the dusty loneliness of country music. The Romans 1st came collectively in the first ’80s as basic principle songwriter and bassist Michael Uhlenkott and percussionist Keith Mitchell, who’d worked well together within the music group Monitor, joined causes with guitarist Juan Gomez from Human being Hands and Pat Delaney from B People on saxophone. Prior to the music group recorded their 1st recording in 1983, YOU MERELY Live Once, the Romans experienced added another guitarist, Mikey Borens, a previous person in the Customers. (Another person in the Customers, Paul D. Cutler, created the classes.) By enough time the music group documented their second (and last) recording in 1986, THE FINAL Days in the Ranch, Borens experienced left the music group and was changed on acoustic guitar by Robert Lloyd, while Delaney experienced resigned like a full-time person in the music group, though he still performed occasional concert events with them. Key pad participant Chris Cacavas also performed within the Last Days in the Ranch and frequently joined the music group on-stage. Following a breakup from the Romans, Uhlenkott retired from music to focus on visible artwork. Keith Mitchell became a member of Chris Cacavas in his additional music group, Green on Crimson; after Green on Crimson folded, Mitchell performed with Opal and Mazzy Superstar, while Cacavas released a solo profession. Robert Lloyd became a sideman, functioning mainly with John Wesley Harding, but additionally with Steve Wynn, Paul Kelly, and Neko Case. And lastly, Juan Gomez re-formed Individual Hands.
