The Americana/alt-country sound of Red Thread came into being when Jason Lakis’ last band, Fifty percent Film, split up in 2002. Half a year of composing in isolation and Lakis acquired more than enough music for an record. With close friends from several Bay Area rings — like the Inspectors, whom with he previously performed percussion — Lakis documented Crimson Thread’s debut, Following the Last, released by Badman in early 2003. Following a couple of positive press, a nationwide tour, along with a few new friends to increase the band, Crimson Thread came back with Stress Pins in 2004. Dispatch within the Attic, Wild birds within the Subway implemented in August another year.
