A Swedish doom metallic outfit that incorporates components of folk and hard rock to their epic sound, the Purchase of Israfel was founded in 2012 by Tom Sutton (ex-Church of Misery) and Patrik Andersson Winberg (ex-Doomdogs), Hans Lilja, and Staffan Björck. Centered from the metallic mecca that’s Gothenburg, the band’s amazing doom pedigree quickly got them a cope with Napalm Information, who released their amazing debut, Intelligence, in 2014.
