One of the better choro organizations in Brazil, Maogani is a violão (classical guitar) quartet focused on the modernization from the genre. The group premiered in 1996 in the Projeto Pixinguinha, where Época de Ouro, Galo Preto, and Nó em Pingo D’Água also performed. Their 1st recording, Maogani (Rob Digital, 1997), was nominated for the 1998 Clear award as greatest instrumental record. The quartet offers performed with performers like Leila Pinheiro (in the display Catavento e Girassol) and Rosana (in Carmen Miranda: O Mito).
