The Naked and Famous

New Zealand indie digital ensemble the Naked and Famous help to make traveling, melodic pop with an ’80s post-punk influence. Focused around the skills of vocalist Alisa Xayalith and instrumentalist/vocalist Thom Forces, the band shaped in 2008 and released two EPs before adding people to try out live. This year 2010 they released their debut recording, Passive Me, Intense You, featuring the main single “Youthful Blood.” To get their debut, the music group went on an enormous world tour, executing some 200 unusual dates. Using the tour at a finish, the group discovered themselves relocating to Laurel Canyon, LA in 2012 with the purpose of writing and documenting their sophomore discharge. Working with famous brands Alan Moulder and Justin Meldal-Johnson, the group released their second record, In Moving Waves, in Sept 2013. Buoyed with the singles “Hearts Like Ours,” “A Stillness,” and “I Wipe out Giants,” the record reached number 4 in New Zealand and peaked at amount 14 on Billboard’s U.S. Best Alternative Albums graph. In 2016, the Nude and Famous came back using their third full-length record, Basic Forms. The record came after a protracted hiatus where time Power and Xayalith finished their partnership; a painful changeover that up to date the recording from the record. Produced at Power’ house in Echo Recreation area in LA, Simple Forms highlighted the one “Higher.”
