The Mighty Chalkdust

Along with his uplifting vocals, dynamic stage persona, and devotion to the original origins of calypso music, Mighty Chalkdust (given birth to Hollis Liverpool) has produced his presence felt in his homeland of Trinidad. A five-time champion from the calypso monarchy, he captivated worldwide acclaim after getting his 1st crown in 1976. Within his reward, he was delivered to New York to execute in the Brooklyn Museum’s Dimanche Gras display, where he was favorably examined by the brand new York Occasions, the Village Tone of voice, and the brand new Yorker. Chalkdust offers continuing to oppose the greater commercialized noises of soca through such outspoken music as “AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF Quacks” and “Guy Need to Dance.”
