The Lorne Gibson Trio

A harmony group similar to the Fortunes, the Ivy Group, and the 4 Pennies, the Lorne Gibson Trio specialized in some sort of mid-tempo folk-influenced audio. Recording for British Decca in the middle-1960’s, their singles included “HANG UP THE PHONE THE TELEPHONE” and “I BELIEVE YOU NEED TO Ignore,” neither which made a huge splash with the general public. The group do rate an area helping the Beatles on stage, and made an appearance using the Liverpool quartet, alongside the Ivy Group as well as the Hollies on the June 1965 BBC broadcast (“The Beatles Request You To HAVE A Solution To Trip”), and made an appearance in the 1966 feature film The Ghost Runs Gear, starring the Spencer Davis Group, where they lip-synced with their recordings of “Like Totally free,” “PAY ATTENTION TO My Jingle Jangle,” and “Meddlesome Matty,” before disappearing.
