The Lollies

Pop never dies, it just sees various fun forms to mutate into. The Lollies accept that particular process, tackling from female group sass to Britpop irony and distilling it through wickedly funny lyrics and self-described “indie sweet” sound. Delivered and elevated in London, the group happened in the beginning of 1999 when two expatriates, Canadian bassist/vocalist Jane Hill and American guitarist/vocalist Kate St. Claire, woke up with hangovers from a fresh Year’s Eve party along with a tune written. Initial demonstration recordings for what both initially regarded as an informal joke attracted curiosity from likewise minded label and music group types, producing a complete music group lineup when another expatriate, Canadian drummer Matthew Lazowski, stepped up in past due summertime 1999. Keyboardist Rachel Angel, the main one English person in the group, became a member of with only weekly prior to the band’s first proper gig, having visit interview the music group and invited to hold around completely.
