THE FINAL Electro-Acoustic Space Jazz & Percussion Outfit first appeared in 2007 on enigmatic and prolific producer Madlib’s label as Yesterdays New Quintet, using their landmark album Yesterdays Universe. The record featured Madlib creating a fresh, ahead melange of music beneath the guise of the collection of fresh groups all developed by Madlib, including “The Jazzistics,” “Youthful Jazz Rebels,” “Jackson Conti,” “Suntouch,” “The Jahari Massamba Device,” “Kamala Walker & the Spirit Tribe, and “the Yesterdays Universe All-Stars,” “the Otis Jackson, Jr. Trio,,” as well as the Eddie Prince Fusion Music group. THE FINAL Electro-Acoustic Space Jazz & Percussion Ensemble’s particular sound features groove-heavy tracks, which frequently quickly branch off into codas. This year 2010, the Outfit released Kilometers Away, an recording of tracks each focused on different jazz greats including Horace Tapscott and organist Larry Youthful.
