Home / Biography / Jonquil

British indie rock collective Jonquil were shaped in Oxford by (after that) 20-year-old multi-instrumentalist/songwriter Hugo Manuel so that they can flesh out that which was initially a bedroom recording task. The music group, whose myriad affects include everyone through the Microphones to Joan Baez, mixes the swirling cacophony of “freak folk” works like Pet Collective and Skygreen Leopards using the indie pop sensibilities of Modest Mouse and Fleet Foxes. Jonquil released their debut, Sunny Casinos, in 2006, accompanied by Lions in 2008. A HUNDRED Suns found its way to 2010.
