The Colourist

Based away of Southern California, Orange County pop confectioners the Colourist focus on hook-filled, ebullient indie pop/rock and roll in the vein of Matt & Kim, Foster individuals, Phoenix, and Passion Pit. Shaped around the abilities of ex-Paper Thin Wall space guitarist/vocalist Adam Castilla and drummer/vocalist Maya Tuttle, along with key pad participant Justin Wagner and bass participant Kollin Johannsen, the quartet spent 2011 and early 2012 honing their live abilities with famous brands Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. and Grouplove before proceeding into the studio room to lay out tracks because of their debut EP, the Republic-issued Lido, including their Buzz Machine-fueled hit on the web single, “Small Video games.” The band’s self-titled debut LP implemented in early 2014.
