Terry Lynn

Forgoing the sunshiny melodies and positive emails typically within reggae, Terry Lynn produced a conscious decision early in her job to approach Jamaican music with an activist’s mindset, performing songs about crime and inner city poverty instead of happiness and appreciate. Growing up because the youngest of nine kids in Waterhouse, a destitute area of Kingston, she attempt to catch the downtrodden disposition of her environment within the lyrics of her first one, “Kingstonlogic,” a grimy electro-dance amount with nods to Daft Punk and M.We.A.. In 2007, she matched up with Phred at Phree Music, who put together five remixes from the melody and released it as an EP entitled Kingstonlogic 1.0.. Jamaican professional photographer Peter Dean Rickards, the person behind social media marketing network the Afflicted Lawn, also hopped up to speed to produce a video for the melody. A stunning spread of photojournalism worth Country wide Geographic, the video put together an instant succession of still photos before finishing with what “to become ongoing,” as foreshadowing for Kingstonlogic 2.0, Lynn’s initial full-length debut scheduled for Sept of 2008.
