Strife

Blues-based English hard rock trio who shaped in 1972. The music group – John Reid (vocals, acoustic guitar), Gordon Rowley (bass, vocals) and David Williams (drums, vocals) – gigged incessantly and gained a reputation like a perennial support work, but lacked the personality to attain headline position. Strife developed a little but faithful cult following through the mid-70s, making use of their honest, no-frills, good-time rock and roll ‘n’ move. They released two typical rock and roll albums, with BACK AGAIN TO Thunder offering Don Airey on keyboards and Paul Ellison instead of Williams on drums. After one last stab at achievement using the EP College, the band quit in 1979. Rowley continued to create Nightwing.
