Steve Litwin

Steve Litwin was probably introduced to polka music soon after his delivery. Born and elevated within a Polish-American family members in North Tonawanda, NY (a suburb Buffalo), polka music was component of everyday life, whether on the air, on tv, or with live rings at wedding ceremonies and dances. At age 7 he began acquiring accordion lessons from his Uncle, an area musician and music instructor. Although generally he implemented the lesson framework, he recommended playing polkas, waltzes, and obereks. Litwin’s Grandfather performed harmonica and was a big motivation in his like for Polish and polka music. As Editor, Litwin was in charge of the five-page Polka Publication, a normal feature in the regular monthly Polish American Journal. His “Polka Insider” column is usually a normal feature in the Polish American Journal. Because the early ’70s, Litwin offers created the liner records for several of polka albums including recordings by Large Chicago, Bay Condition IV, the Brass Connection, the John Nyschot Orchestra, Expenses Czerniak’s Concertina Music group, Steel Town Brass, and Eddie Blazoncyzk’s Versatones. He also published the liner records for Polkas for Kids, made by the Polish American Journal and A Kolberg Sampler, made by the Polish Community Middle of Buffalo. He was among the professional photographers for the Dynatones’ Live Wire recording of 1982 and his pictures is presented on Eddie Blazoncyzk’s Polka Event recording. In 1976, he began playing concertina and since 1983, offers sponsored a Concertina Jam program through the July Polka Fireworks event in the Seven Springs Vacation resort in Western Pa. Every year over 30 concertina players, including a number of the best Polish concertina players in the united states, take part in this annual acoustic event, playing music from your Polish history. Although polkas are his primary experience, Litwin’s music passions range between Al Jolson to big rings to Patsy Cline towards the Seaside Boys towards the Four Months.
