Speedway Blvd.

This short-lived US band featured a potpourri of musical styles. Produced in 1979, they comprised Ray Herring (vocals, piano), Gregg Hoffman (electric guitar, vocals), Jordan Rudess (b. 4 November 1956, NY, USA; keyboards), Dennis Feldman (bass, vocals) and Glenn Dove (drums). They debuted on Epic Information using a self-titled record that defied basic categorization. It highlighted a solid base of heavy-duty symphonic rock and roll, improved by blues, funk, spirit and Caribbean affects. In areas, it courted evaluations with Led Zeppelin’s even more experimental phases. Unfortunately, the band split up before their accurate potential could possibly be understood. Feldman continued to try out with Stability and afterwards Michael Bolton. Rudess guested on Vinnie Moore’s Period Odyssey, released a single record in 1993, and became a member of Dream Movie theater in 1999.
