Sonya Cotton

San Francisco-based singer/songwriter Sonya Natural cotton honed her skills on her behalf native East Coastline soil being a studio room art main at Vassar University in Poughkeepsie, NY. A fan of all factors dance, theater, tone of voice, and visible arts from a age, Cotton started composing and saving her own materials while at Vassar by using fellow pupil and bandmate Chris Kiehne, leading to the discharge of her 2005 debut EP, Baltimore Trees and shrubs. In 2006 Natural cotton embarked on the cross-country tour that could eventually discover her taking main in the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA art picture and liberating the stark, sorrowful full-length From the Sea (2007). Made by Kiehne and documented in her grandparents’ cabin in Connecticut, it captured the ears of critics both regional and national. Natural cotton offers performed and documented with numerous additional Bay Area functions like the Bland Allisons, Chris Maher, as well as the Country wide Lights.
