Sonny Hopson

Sonny Hopson was a favorite soul DJ about Philadelphia radio in the 1960s. He was also involved with managing and generating artists (like the Fantastic Johnny C, Charles Earland, the Emanons, the Cooperettes, Ann Robinson, George Freeman, and Plant Ward), hosting Television shows, and buying local night clubs. An excerpt (or perhaps excerpts) from his 1969 radio display was released on Compact disc by Philly Archives in 1969, offering his slithery, quick announcements in the front, in back again, and over spirit tunes of the time, interspersed with advertisements and information bulletins.
