When recording mainly because Bodycode, electronic artist Alan Abrahams uses an almost modern method of house music, creating swirling melodies designed to “unlock the psyche via your body.” Abrahams grew up in South Africa, and transferred to London and Lisbon before settling in Berlin. The lush and incredible, polyrhythmic yet completely melodic noises he create reveal his nomadic early life, interweaving tribal beats, techno bleeps, otherworldly vocal examples, and some kitchen sink. He revealed the Bodycode moniker in 2006 for his debut, the complexly split The Conservation of Electric powered Charge. Abrahams shelved the name for 3 years before coming back with the a lot more atmospheric Defense in ’09 2009.
