Produced in 2005 throughout the talents of Kristin Andreassen (vocals, harmonica, guitar, glockenspiel, tambourine), Aoife O’Donovan (tone of voice, baritone ukulele, Wurlitzer, piano, guitar, soprano ukulele, glockenspiel) and Ruth Ungar Merenda (tone of voice, fiddle, soprano ukulele, guitar, baritone ukulele, glockenspiel), contemporary/neo-traditional folk trio Sometymes As to why found fruition in the cradle of a small number of other rings, including Uncle Earl, the Jolly Bankers (Andreassen), Crooked Even now, the Wild Group of Snee, the Wayfaring Strangers (O’Donovan) the Mammals and Jay Ungar & Molly Mason’s Family members Group (Merenda). The group’s heady mixture of Americana, old-timey/choice country and choice folk first made an appearance on 2005’s eponymous, self-released Sometymes Why, accompanied by Your Center Is normally a Glorious Machine in ’09 2009.
