So Cow

Brian Kelly, an Irishman buried inside the So Cow moniker, crafts chaotic indie pop (noise pop doesn’t quite catch it), wealthy with awkward stories of stumbling love underneath billboards, through pop music, or simply anywhere that hearts may collide. Kelly started self-releasing his very own lo-fi warblings (believe Slanted & Enchanted pumped filled with Buzzcocks riffs) in the middle-2000s, accumulating a solid hype through worldwide touring. In ’09 2009, the Tic Tac Totally label collected up the very best of the home-brewed recordings; the self-titled compilation gained Kelly critical compliment, including a thumbs-up from indie rock and roll tastemakers Pitchfork. The tune “Moon Geun Youthful,” using its incidental reference to a Korean pop superstar, provided him some minimal buzz within an unlikely territory.
