Cyril Paulus

Originally known for his virtuoso guitar work in the band Bittersweet, Cyril Paulus developed an effective solo career simply by combining much Brit-pop influence with lyrics that recalled American and French singer/songwriters. Paulus was created and elevated in Montpellier, minus 2 yrs he spent surviving in Britain as a kid. The U.K. impact stuck lengthy after he came back house to France, with rings like Coldplay and Travis getting heroes combined with the Verve, whose “Bittersweet Symphony” offered Bittersweet their name. Following the band split up, American songwriters like Jackson Browne, Carole Ruler, and Wayne Taylor became appealing and steered Paulus’ personal writing in a fresh direction. While determining how exactly to present himself like a single artist he offered his songs for some of France’s even more famous pop performers, including Thierry Amiel, David Charvet, and Erwann Mentheour. In 2006 his debut full-length, Banquise, showed up on Sony/BMG. Among the album’s singles, “El Autre Nom,” received the French documenting industry’s Les Jeunes Skills de l’Année (Youthful Talent of the entire year) award in 2007.
