Offering banjoist Tony Trischka, Skyline helped pioneer the newgrass appear in the ’80s, merging a bluegrass/country mix with strong music and tight harmonies. They released several albums over the Flying Seafood label, including Later to Function in 1981, Stranded in the Moonlight in 1984, Skyline Drive in 1986, and Fireplace of Sophistication (the group’s last record) in 1989.
