Electronic cowpunks Scott 4 — the trio of vocalist Scott Blixen, guitarist John Moody and drummer Ed Tilley — shaped in early 1997; after debuting at an area folk club, these were shortly agreed upon to the unbiased label Satellite television, issuing their debut EP Elektro Akoustic and Volksmechanik that August. The record’s exclusive synthesis of punk, nation and electronica instantly found critical favour, and the next “Deutsche LP Record” was called “Single from the Week” in Melody Machine. After touring to get the Great Llamas, Scott 4 released their full-length debut Documented in Condition LP in early 1998, putting your signature on to main label V2 immediately after.
