Peter-Jurgen Schmidt

Peter Jürgen-Schmidt is a trusted tenor, well-known on German levels. He received his schooling on the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Weimar. For 13 years from 1968 he was in the roster from the Country wide Movie theater of Weimar. He debuted in Verdi’s Oberto, also performing roles such as for example Don José in Carmen, Bacchus in Ariadne auf Naxos and Hoffmann in The Stories of Hoffman, Laca in Jenufa, Pedro in Teifland, Herod in Salome, and Dessau’s Die Verurteilung des Lukullus. He became a member of the Berlin Condition Opera in 1981 and in addition regularly sang using the Dresden Opera and Komische Oper Berlin.
