P76

P76 formed following the demise of Melbourne-based Jerihco in Apr 1998, as singer Danny McDonald continued to generate power pop at its finest. Primarily including McDonald along with Costs Downie and Shane Samson (previously of the Parrot Tribe), the group became mainly McDonald’s band using a revolving lineup. After 90 days, P76 performed frequently around Melbourne with Knievel and Augie March, amongst others. Over a season after its documenting, the band’s debut EP, Lifestyle in General, premiered in 1999. At exactly the same time, McDonald still left the group on the trunk burner while signing up for Oscarlima, who acted as openers for Lit. After touring finished, McDonald concentrated completely on P76. The debut EP received rave testimonials on university airplay aswell as from reputed music journals. In 2000, the music group agreed upon to Zip Information and released the Sunliner EP in 2001. In July 2001, P76 came back to the studio room for an instant documenting of its debut full-length discharge, Into the Sunlight. The record was evaluated in Rolling Rock and made many TOP lists. In Apr 2002, the album’s initial one, “Sleeping In,” premiered. The band came back to the street for some of 2002.
