Original Mirrors

Unique Mirrors are mainly remembered for just one reason: long term Lightning Seeds leader Ian Broudie is at the band. Initial Mirrors created in Liverpool, Britain, in 1980 following the collapse of vocalist Steve Allen’s artwork rock and roll group Deaf College in 1978. (Before the Initial Mirrors, Broudie was an associate of Big in Japan with Frankie Would go to Hollywood frontman Holly Johnson.) Including Broudie on acoustic guitar, the music group also presented Peter Kircher (drums), Jonathan Perkins (keyboards), and Phil Spalding (bass). Recalling glam and power pop, Initial Mirrors didn’t actually resemble Broudie’s later on ’60s influenced function. The group’s self-titled 1st album premiered in 1980 without commercial achievement; a likewise bleak fate fulfilled their next full-length, Heart Twango & Uncooked Defeat, in 1981. The music group then split. Broudie became a maker for Echo & the Bunnymen as well as the Fall before becoming a member of vocalist Paul Simpson in Treatment in 1983 and planting the Lightning Seed products in 1989.
