Oozing Wound

Having a caustic mixture of crossover, thrash, NWOBHM, and sludge, Chicago’s Oozing Wound may be the brainchild of Zack Weil (guitar, vocals), Kevin Cribbin (bass), and Kyle Reynolds (drums). All three people have ties towards the Windy Town sound/experimental punk picture, having used underground works like Cacaw, ZATH, and Poor Drugs. They shaped Oozing Wound in 2013 and released their debut recording, the sci-fi-minded, Matt Russell-engineered Retrash, that same yr. The LP’s searing mixture of face-melting aggression and offbeat lyrics drew acclaim from both metallic and noise-rock areas. They drew identical accolades for 2014’s Globe Suck, and because of their much expected third studio room outing, the trio going to Minbal Studios in Chicago, once again with Russell behind the plank. The causing Whatever Forever fell in Oct 2016.
