One More Grain

Frontman Daniel Patrick Quinn, the previous mind honcho of Suilvan Recordings, may be the center and face of 1 More Grain, executing his songs within a spoken phrase, stream-of-consciousness, defeat poetry manner similar to the Fall’s Tag E. Smith or Artwork Brut’s Eddie Argos. His vocals overlap the group’s worldly hodgepodge of rock and roll, one tune a peppy post-punk defeat with ska horns, another a moody Gypsy carnival theme. Hailing from Lancaster, Quinn shifted to Edinburgh and recruited the others of his music group from an online query — drummer Gal Moore, trumpeter Andrew Blick, and bassist DuDu. After gathering jointly, the foursome started rehearsing in the cellar of the nearby pub, creating an album’s worthy of of material. Success Garden Records decided to discharge the seven tracks that define Pigeon British in Apr 2007. Shortly following this, DuDu and Moore still left the group, to become changed by bassist Merek Cooper and drummer Laurie Waller, who began focusing on the follow-up, Isle of Grain, released in January of 2008.
