An excellent blues and boogie-woogie pianist, Mr. B. (aka Tag Braun) offers recorded several superb sets that discover him revitalizing the classic style. He began playing piano when he was 15 and, although he previously heard a lot of the pop and rock and roll music from the period, when his dad brought home an archive by Jimmy Yancey, it persuaded him from the musical route he should consider. Braun was luckily enough to go to Chicago on many occasions, seeing, speaking with and drawing motivation from Little Sibling Montgomery, Blind John Davis and Sunnyland Slim. He also noticed Boogie Woogie Crimson play in the Blind Pig golf club in Detroit every Mon night time for 11 years. From the middle-’70s, Mr. B. was using regional rings and gaining a solid status. Noticed and Marcus Belgrave and 1988’s Companions with time which also features Noticed. In 1991 he released My Weekend Greatest for Ann Arbor label Schoolkids and implemented it up using a big music group record, Hallelujah Teach in 1994. This record also arrived on Schoolkids and features Ann Arbor’s stalwart big music group the Parrot of Heaven Orchestra. Mr. B. are available every year on the Ann Arbor Artwork Fair pounding away some boogie for the enthralled hordes of vacationers or for the mound at Vet’s Recreation area pitching his beginner baseball team to some other victory.
