French rapper Mokobe Traore was originally an associate from the rap posse 113, but really made his name along with his 2007 single outing, Mon Afrique, an recording which he put his Malian origins towards the forefront, supported by such popular African performers as Youssou N’Dour, Amadou & Mariam, Tiken Jah Fakoly, and Salif Keita, to mention a few, aswell as French hip-hop numbers Booba and Diam’s.
