Michael Moore

Though a musical arch-conservative, Michael Moore’s an extraordinary, capable bassist noted for his restraint and support in small group settings. He provides few peers for tasteful, lyrical playing, and it has constantly attracted raves for his function in NY clubs. Moore started playing bass at 15, and caused his guitarist dad in Cinncinnati night clubs. He studied on the Cincinnati University Conservatory and performed at the neighborhood Playboy membership with Cal Collins and Woody Evans. Moore toured Africa and Eastern European countries on circumstances Department-sponsored junket with Woody Herman’s music group in 1966, and documented with Herman in NY and Dusko Goykovich in Belgrade. Moore used Marian McPartland, Freddie Hubbard, Jim Hall and Benny Goodman within the ’70s, in addition to quartets led with the duos of Ruby Braff and George Barnes, and Chet Baker and Lee Konitz. Moore teamed with Gene Bertonicini in the past due ’70s, and continuing their association with the ’80s in to the ’90s. He also documented with Jake Hanna, Warren Vache, Supplement Ellis and Zoot Sims within the ’70s, and Kenny Barron, Michael Urbaniak and Sims within the ’80s. Moore and Bertoncini possess documented for OmniSound, Stash and Chiaroscuro. They will have a few periods available on Compact disc.
