Mary K. Scanlan

Mary Scanlan includes a doctorate in piano pedagogy through the College or university of Illinois and master’s and bachelor’s levels in piano performance through the Colleges of Iowa and Wisconsin, respectively. She’s studied piano numerous greats, including Paul Badurka-Skoda, and harpsichord with Robert Conant. She’s provided many workshops and lectures and offered as personnel pianist for the Chicago Civic Symphony; pianist for the lieder and chamber music system, Yale Summer Event; recital accompanist for the Country wide Association of Educators of Performing and Country wide Federation of Music Night clubs; lieder accompanist in Rome, Munich, Paris, Dusseldorf, Nürnberg, and Wiesbaden; and lecturer/recitalist in the Country wide Event of Music by Ladies Composers. A 1989 give to research ladies composers led to recitals specialized in music by ladies and articles on Catherine Comet for Music Editor’s Journal. She was granted a 1992 NEH give to review American music in Boston.
