Mark Whitecage Trio

b. 4 June 1937, Litchfield, Connecticut, USA. When aged just six, Whitecage performed alto and tenor saxophones and clarinet in his dad’s family music group, with 12 got his union credit card. He performed in regional dance rings before getting into jazz. During armed forces assistance in 1955, he briefly fulfilled and used Eric Dolphy, a gathering that produced Whitecage determined to check out his own superstar. On his release and back Connecticut, he explored improvised music, in the meantime surviving through studio room and membership gigs, including his initial record time on vibraphonist Bobby Naughton’s Character’s Consort and Understanding. Involved with New York Town’s 60s improvised music and avant garde jazz moments, Whitecage used clarinettist Perry Robinson, through whom he fulfilled Gunter Hampel, starting a decade-long association with Hampel’s Galaxie Fantasy Music group. This took Whitecage on many excursions to European countries, appearances on many information, including Angel and Trip To The Tune Within. During this time period, Whitecage also performed in bass participant Saheb Sarbib’s groupings, and performed with Annette Peacock and Paul Bley, Jeanne Lee with many experimental dance troupes. Within the 80s, Whitecage was involved with several Robinson’s tasks, including Licorice Manufacturer, and he also shaped and led the Cup House Ensemble to generate music for Bernard and François Baschet’s audio sculptures, executing in NY and in European countries. The 90s discovered Whitecage especially energetic in documenting studios, regular affiliates including bass participant Dominic Duval, drummer Jay Rosen, pianist Joseph Scianni and cellist Tomas Ulrich. Through the mid-90s, Whitecage was sometimes reunited with Anthony Braxton, whom he previously met in Hampel’s music group, for performances within a quartet so when featured soloist within the opera, Trillium R. In 1999, he toured European countries along with his experimental consumer electronics music group, Electro!. In the first 00s, Whitecage shaped a duo, RoMarkable, along with his wife, clarinettist Rozanne Levine, and he in addition has played and documented as co-leader from the Nu Music group, in duo with Michael Jefry Stevens, with Duval, with Lee. Whitecage provides played at celebrations through the entire USA and in addition in France, Germany and Hungary. He provides performed at Lincoln Middle, Carnegie Recital Hall, Museum of Contemporary Art, with many colleges including Yale, Columbia, and Wesleyan.
