Marc Broussard

The son of Boogie Kings guitarist (and Louisiana Hall of Popularity member) Ted Broussard, singer/songwriter Marc Broussard was seemingly destined for any life like a music man. His upbringing in Lafayette, Louisiana, instilled in him an affinity for R&B alongside the Cajun trappings of southern Louisiana. Pulling vocal and stylistic impact from Otis Redding and Brian McKnight while bearing the preternaturally gruff vocals of John Hiatt and Dr. John, Broussard was hardly 20 during his 1st album’s launch. Momentary Setback seemed to motivating reviews within the self-employed Ripley Information label in Sept 2002. Soon later on, the youthful musician inked a cope with Isle Def Jam. With Island’s support, doorways began to open up for Broussard. “EXACTLY LIKE That,” a monitor from your Momentary Setback recording, was culled for addition within the 2003 Lost and Discovered, Vol. 1 compilation alongside such Americana performers as Ryan Adams as well as the Jayhawks; that same 12 months, Broussard also made an appearance on the Bruce Springsteen tribute recording, Light of Day time, with the monitor “Back Your Hands.” He spent the fall months of 2003 on the highway, where he offered as opening take action for Dave Matthews Band, Maroon 5, and fellow vocalist/songwriter Gavin DeGraw. Carencro, a sophomore recording called after Broussard’s hometown, was released by Isle Information in 2004, and he produced the leap from Isle to Atlantic Information four years afterwards for the discharge of Keep RETURNING. He became a street dog following the album’s discharge, starting for and writing levels with everyone from Maroon 5 as well as the Dave Matthews Music group to Willie Nelson, O.A.R., and Bonnie Raitt. In March of 2011, two tunes — “Lucky” and “Just Everything” — had been released for digital download like a precursor to his self-titled, Jamie Kenney-produced recording that made an appearance in July that also signaled his go back to Vanguard.
