Ludwig August Lebrun

Ludwig August Lebrun was a superb oboist who contributed some nicely written oboe music towards the instrument’s repertoire. His dad was an oboist and performers’ rehearsal trainer in the courtroom of Mannheim, renowned for getting the most excellent and innovative orchestra of that time period. A 1756 register of Mannheim music artists expresses that he was a Belgian. Little Ludwig discovered oboe from his dad. In 1764, at age 12, he was accepted towards the Mannheim orchestra using the position of “scholar,” signifying he was learning orchestral playing by seated along with the orchestra at least during rehearsals. He was produced a complete member in 1767 at age 15 and remained in the orchestra until his loss of life. He was a superb musician even with the standards of this elite orchestra. That is proven by the actual fact that he also became a member of the specially selected band of chamber music artists who were attracted through the orchestra to execute at the courtroom of Elector Carl Theodore and through the high income that accounts books of that time period show he was presented with. He was allowed to go to provide concerts and make visitor appearances with various other orchestras. In 1778, he wedded the well-known soprano Franziska Danzi, girl of a well-known musical family members (elder sister of composer Franz Danzi). That they had two musically essential kids: pianist Sophie Lebrun (1781 – after 1815) and Rosine Lebrun (1873 – 1855), a soprano. These are evidently not linked to the horn participant France Jean Lebrun (1759 – 1809). They often times toured thereafter, going to such metropolitan areas as Milan, Vienna, Prague, Paris, Berlin, and London. He was thought to be the best possible oboist of his period and is documented as the first ever to reach D and E above high C on that device as musically useful tones. He published impressive music for oboe, including many concertos and items for chamber organizations. He also published some music not really involving oboe plus some dance suites. His music is usually nice and undemanding around the listener.
