Little Caesar & the Consuls

Bruce Morshead, Norm Sherrat, Peter Deremiccious, Ken Pernokis and Gene MacLellan founded Small Caesar as well as the Consuls in 1957 in Toronto. (Robbie Robertson was also an associate for a short while.) The group documented several Canadian strikes through the mid-’60s (including “EASILY Found a fresh Woman,” “My Woman Sloopy,” “YOU TRULY Got a Hang on Me” and “Mercy Mr. Perry”). Morshead remaining in 1966 as well as the band split up in 1971, but re-formed in 1973, 1976 and 1993 with different original people. The second option reunion spawned the recording Since 1956. A self-titled 1965 recording is also obtainable.
