Linda Hoyle

Previously lead vocalist with intensifying jazz rock act Affinity, Hoyle embarked in a short solo career in 1971, possibly hoping to check out a similar way to that of Christine Ideal who had lately departed from Chicken breast Shack. BITS OF Me was an excellent display for the vocalist’s dynamic design. Aided by guitarist Chris Spedding and Karl Jenkins (oboe), Jeff Clyne (bass) and John Marshall (drums) from Nucleus, Hoyle exhibited her understand of an array of materials, notably through interpretations of Laura Nyro’s ‘Unhappy Females’ and Nina Simone’s ‘Backlash Blues’. She opted to keep music pursuing her relationship to Pete Ruler, former musical movie director to saxophonist Ronnie Scott. This reliable documenting was fetching large sums lately on vinyl, searched for by record enthusiasts from the Vertigo Information label. The record was finally released on Compact disc in 2002.
