Life Coach

Post-rock supergroup Lifestyle Trainer began in 2012, developing from a somewhat convoluted back-story. A manufacturer, a multi-instrumentalist, and among the founding associates of early post-rock legends Trans Am, Phil Manley documented a solo record under his very own name in 2011 and entitled it Life Mentor. The record was composed of the same minimal Krautrock noises that Life Mentor (the music group) would continue to build, but relied intensely on drum devices and Manley’s self-overdubbing. When it emerged time for you to record another volume of this sort of music, Manley enlisted drummer Jon Theodore (Mars Volta, Golden) to displace the digital drums with flesh and bloodstream. When extra guitarist Isaiah Mitchell was earned as business lead shredder, the music group was comprehensive, and had taken on the life span Mentor moniker as its brand. A debut record, Alphawaves, premiered on Thrill Jockey in 2013.
