Playing a lively, intelligent fusion of folk and rock and roll, Buxton were shaped in La Porte, Texas, a town in the Gulf coast of florida roughly 25 miles east of Houston. Guitarist, vocalist, and primary songwriter Sergio Trevino shaped the music group in 2003; through his young sister, he previously met a set of fellow music artists, multi-instrumentalist Jason Willis (who has electric guitar, mandolin, pedal metal, and banjo) and bassist Chris Smart. The three music artists began jamming jointly, and in a short time Buxton had been playing regional gigs in La Porte. In 2006, the trio documented and self-released its debut record, Red Follows Crimson. The record fared sufficiently to recover the expense of production, as well as the music group taken up stakes, relocating towards the brighter lighting of Houston.
