La Troba Kung-Fú

Going by accordionist/vocalist Joan Garriga, La Troba Kung-Fú keeps on the tradition of combining, revamping, and tinkering with Catalan rhumba. After eight successful years and three critically acclaimed information using the renown music group Dusminguet, Garriga thought we would branch off and mind his very own group beginning in 2005. The group’s associates — Pep Terricabres (drums), Flor Inza (percussion), Muñeco (piano/voz), Mariá Roch (bass), Muchacho, Toti Arimany, and Marc Sampere — gather components of dub, cumbia, blues, boogie woogie, and even more. Their name will pay homage to both los travadores (vacationing minstrels) of the bygone era as well as the kung fu-like mastery of their musical instruments. Some a few months after their inception, La Troba Kung-Fú released their debut EP, Dub-Filleti. Released on the web, the recording highlighted a small number of compositions and their particular remixes. The band’s full-length record debut premiered a short while afterwards. The record, entitled Clavell Morenet, was documented in Spain and London and released with the K Industria label. The task was warmly received, gracing Western european world music graphs for months following its discharge. Though not really well covered outdoors Spain, La Troba’s rising reputation was aided by many appearances on local television through the entire summertime and fall of 2007.
